Using your result

Make this part of your planning brief.

Start with the net floor and wall areas you're tiling, using the same tile dimensions for this calculation; run it separately when the floor and walls use different products.

The quantity uses exact tile area in square metres and rounds up to whole tiles after adding your chosen allowance for cutting and spares.

The supply subtotal uses the rounded whole-tile area, while the laying subtotal uses the measured area; the starting prices and 10% allowance are examples you can replace.

Confirm the final set-out, box quantities, product suitability, adhesive, grout, delivery and preparation with your tiler before ordering.

For questions to include in a tiling quote, read the bathroom tiling guide.

When comparing product suitability and finishes, use the bathroom tile selection guide.

For the underlying wet-area work, prepare your questions with the waterproofing planning checklist.

Questions about this tool.

Does the tile count include box rounding?

It rounds up to whole tiles only; ask the supplier how many tiles or square metres are in each box and order the required full-box quantity.

Can I calculate wall and floor tiles separately?

Yes, enter 0 for the area you're excluding, complete the calculation for that product, then repeat it for the other surface and tile size.

Are the sample supply and labour prices current quotes?

They're editable example inputs; enter the actual prices you receive, using a consistent GST basis, to make the subtotal relevant to your project.
